Mail Forwards for external zones

Frequently asked question from our customers is "Can we use your Mail Forward servers if our DNS zone is not hosted at REAL TECH?". And the answer is yes. This is possible.

The configuration is quite simple and everyone can handle. Here is a tutorial in few steps how to do it.

Step 1. The action scene is your DNS zone hosted to the other provider. Here you need to add two MX records. They have to be pointed to the available Mail Forward servers for your REAL TECH account. Here is an example of your MX records:

Type: MX
Host:
Priority: 5
Points to: mailforward21.your-ns.net

Type: MX
Host:
Priority: 10
Points to: mailforward22.your-ns.net

Note: In your configuration, you need to use Mail Forward servers which are available for your REAL TECH account. They can be seen at any time in your Mail Forward management page.

Step 2. Now you need to create an empty DNS zone with the same name at REAL TECH. You need to clone the same MX records here. The MX records at REAL TECH and the MX records at your other provider must be identical. Both must be pointed to the available MF servers for your REAL TECH account.

Step 3. The last thing you need to do is to set up your Mail Forward settings. To enter into your Mail Forwards management page, at your DNS zone management page click on the "Mail forwards" button. It is located just between "REAL TECH domains" and "DNS statistics" buttons. Afterward, click on the "Add new forward" link. A new pop-up window will appear. Here you can set up your Mail box. And you must type the e-mail address where the mails to be forwarded to.
